For those of you who live in metropolises with carpool lanes requiring 3 or more people per car, deleting the rear seat means you only need 2 people in your car to qualify for carpool. Unless the cop that pulls you over knows for a fact that your particular 968 should have rear seats from the factory.

I occasionally squeeze an extra chick back there so I'm keepin' the rear seats.

Wasn't the rear seat delete a factory option for coupes, making it legit anyway?

Ever since I round out about this part, I've been wondering how much the color difference with my otherwise marine (or was it navy, i keep mixing up, very dark blue indeed) interior would bother me. I fear it will do so a lot

BTW haven't been at RL for ages due to various reasons, my current car is a midnight blue 968, not the 84 944 in the pic...

This might be useful for those whom want a shelf also. Measured mine some time ago - quite sure there are sufficient dimensions!

take the seat delete carpet and spray dye or roll right over it to match your interior.

no fear. the result will look great. but be a bit hard to to the touch. frankly, who cares?

Not sure if this is serious or not, but would that yield even remotely satisfying results?

BTW, I cant figure out weather your avatar or the 968 looks more beautiful. I think your avatar wins in the end, no matter how much I love the 968

you get the right die and lay it on thick. why ?

1. becuase the seat delete is SOOOOOOOOO much of an upgrade over the crappy rear seats.

2. opens up a lot of space.

3. nobody gives two ****s about the texture of your seat delete, just the color.

afaik, for the US there was no option to delete the rear seats. This was basically not an option but rather a feature of the Club Sport, which incidentally was not available here. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on anything.

The only thing that will look great is to have one made in the correct color. Either you can ask D9 to make one, which might be expensive, or you can make one yourself using the correct color carpet and a sewing machine. Maybe if you ask nicely, the kind gentlemen at D9 can send you a template of their piece for you to make your own blue version.

Keeping it black probably wouldn't clash too badly with dark midnight blue interior.

Default Rear Cubby

The rear storage compartment displaced the rear seats. I would think the same law would apply to any car that had the compartment instead of seats.

I owned a Clubsport and I loved the rear seat delete, even if it was just a simple wood construction with carpet glued on. I my opinion it would be very easy to rebuild. Here in Germany a lot of CS running around.
