I deleted my rear seats and replaced them with Cab cubbies. I think the cubbies are a much better option then the rear seat delete carpet. You get a shelf plus 2 storage compartments and a much larger trunk. They also look better imho. With tjust the rear delete carpet, it looks as if something is missing.

Thanks man. You are right, I really like this a lot too. I already virtually cancelled my plans of rear-seat delete when I thought back of my road trips I made and plan on making in the future. I think with a suitcase or more in the back, the CS option is too impractical.

May I ask how you fixed the cubby in place, is it sturdy enough to actually hold a 20 to 30 lbs suitcase tied to that bar ;-) ?

Yes it most deff. is sturdy enough. It is a very simple modification and bolts right in. You just remove the seat belts, and the cubbies bolt in their place the same way they do in the Cab.

Awesome. So I 'just' have to find me one ;-) One final question, if I'm not bothering you (or anyone else that might wanna chime in) too much: how would you estimate (or measured) the weight savings over the original rear seat?

i like just having the plain space to pile duffle bags. once you get the right shaped bags all working in concert, the storage space for traveling becomes enormous. i love my little station wagon.

I forgot the exact weight savings. Will try and look it up for you tonight (i have it saved on my pc at home somewhere). Its obviously not going to be as light as doing a CS carpet, but its def. lighter then having the rear seats there.

I wouldn't mind a rear shelf either. Are they removable? And about constructing one for yourself, i feel its not worth the time. My goal is the same exact setup as odurandina with sparco milano prestige. I have to see the red leather version in person though.

Its fixed to the rear seat belt mounting points (can dig out the part number). The middle is supported by a fin that sits on the transmission tunnel in the centre.

The space underneath is empty, someone measured one up for other to make a copy. Doesn't show the mounting arms just the shelf and the fin

Doesn't work too well with a cage, but you can cut bits out. I guess the point with a Club Sport and Sport is that already have the carpeted rear and the shelf just fits over it.
