Welcome!
I think the 968 headlights are more than adequate. I don't care how many noble gasses you have in your other car's headlights , the 968's headlights should still be at least adequate, so my guess would be you have old bulbs or something. You could also try cleaning the inside of the lenses and the reflectors - I took them apart and sprayed windex inside, filled with some water, swirled around some, rinsed out a few times, let them dry in the sun, and they were much clearer and probably brighter. I say probably because I never compared before/after.
I drive through twisties at midnight with the 968 sometimes and I can see well enough to drive fast. I agree with Fox, the 968 headlights are fantastic. The highbeams being super-fantastic might have something to do with the extra driving lights in the bumper.

Agreed JDS, the reason I didn't want to go for the 944 was because of THOSE pop-ups. Those are totally 80s and just look incongruous to me, somewhat similar to the 80s big hair trend. I love the pop-ups on the 968, very innovative and original, one of the reasons I chose to buy one.

I never realized the driving lights came on with the high beams. I thought they turned off like they do on my 951.
Just checked both 968's and sure enough, when the highs are on, switches from fog light to driving light.
Learn something new all the time.
