speed of the 968
Can someone tell me 0-60 time and 1/4 mile time in the 968 and how they compare to the 951S? I mean...overall...found a sweet 968...need to find out if it's as sweet as I'd like. oh the decisions...that or an 89 951.

Um, the 951 for 89 did 0-60 in about 5.5 seconds, quarter in 13 I think. The 968 was 6 seconds and 13.5 I'm pretty sure. Not slouches by any means.
How much are you looking at paying for each? A 951 shouldn't cost more than a 968.

The real question is, does the 968 have the M030 option (sport suspension) and a limited slip? These are somewhat rare options, but if they are there, you have a real bargain in the 968, all other things being equal. >JM

Yeah, check the options. If either one has the M030, it's probably the better pick. The factory LSD was pretty rare for 951s, but I think the S and 89 had them. Although I like the 968 more, I would advise the 89 951 for a daily driver.
It has lower mileage, more power, better tuning options... and the only things the 968 has over it are the tranny and the looks. As for the looks, you can get the lightweight 968 kit from Infinite Fiberworks for about $4000 total, and as for the tranny, for $3500 I can get you a factory 6 speed with Torsen LSD.
