968 Transaxle Gear Ratios
Anybody have the factory manual information regarding the stock gear ratios of the six forward gears, the differential ratio, and the final drive ratio?
Wish I had the 968 manuals! - Anybody selling a copy of the set?
If there are several options (like the 951 transaxles) please list them also.
Thanks in advance for the information!

From the owners' manual in my '94 coupe, starting with 1st:
6 speed manual:
3.182 :1
2.000 :1
1.435 :1
1.111 :1
0.912 :1
0.778 :1
Reverse is 3.455 :1
Axle ratio is 3.778 :1
For the Tiptronic:
3.152 :1
1.719 :1
1.222 :1
0.907 :1
Reverse is 2.882 :1
Axle ratio is 3.250 :1
To get final drive ratio, multiply the ratio for the gear you're interested in times the axle ratio.
Looking at the axle & 1st gear ratios enlightens me considerably about why the Tip has a reputation for being a bit slower off the line than the 6-speed. Somewhat less torque multiplication there.
Jim, slowly crawling into awakefulness....
