I hope you will take me up on it if you are ever in Chicago. I have just made arrangements to acquire this car and it only has 29k miles on it. Any thoughts on maintenance if I want to drive it for a summer. It has been in heated storage for the last 15 years. Naturally timing belt and pulleys but any other suggestions? Also do you know of someone who can rebuild the water pump. It works fine but according to my mechanic, they don't make oem anymore. Thanks for your guidance and go Cubs!

Matt.

My suggestion to you, is the same one that people gave me.
Find a good independent Porsche shop in your area. PCA members might be able to help.
Make sure that they are well versed in transaxle Porsche's, not all are!
Have then do a complete evaluation. Do you have any service records?
At some point, all the rubber needs to be replaced. Hoses, lines, gaskets.
Is the dash cracked? Clutches seem to last 60-90K miles. Tires over 10 years are scary.
Welcome to 968 land...

Where do you live? I live in Forest Park.....when I went to get a new water pump for my 968 (now sold) about 2 years ago the dealer offered both a new option and a rebuilt option. I went with the rebuilt option. Would love to see the car sometime! I have a super nice 944 turbo now.

Not to derail this excellent thread any further, but 968 water pumps are still available new from aftermarket suppliers, but not directly from Porsche.

For $7.99 you can get a printout of your window sticker from Monroneylabels.com I just did mine. It wasn't quite right, but you can log in and make corrections.

But the user has to select the options from a list of what was available. no intelligence there.

Jeff, there is a coupe being auction by Gooding https://www.goodingco.com/vehicle/1995-porsche-968/ that is claimed to be “among the last five coupes delivered to North America”. It’s a ‘95, vin 820310.
Since the last NA coupe was 820319, wouldn’t that make this one of the last nine instead?
Also, can you tell us what factory options the car came with? Anything else interesting about this car?
One problem I see right off is Cup1 wheels.
Thanks!

Is something wrong with that? 🤭
Seriously, this is probably not the thread to comment on that kind of thing.

Nothing at all is wrong with that. Just not likely to receive the top $$$ that a 6 speed would.
