mines a ZZZ car WPOZZZ96ZNS830445 Give your VIN to Porsche AG. They don't do a certificate of authenticity like they do in the US, but they can give you a 'Vehicle Detail Information' instead. this is what I had to do for my NZ '86 944 |
Will do thanx |
Can someone decode this for me

LT - Partial leather in black - option C02 - US emissions - standard 139 - heated driver's seat - option 331 - am/fm cassette - standard 454 - cruise control - standard 650 - sunroof - standard early car, #94 of 2,234, October 91 build, so it should have the recessed hood badge and larger, edged rear emblems. Thanks Jeff |
Jeff,
Is there a site that shows the differences you mention here? "recessed hood badge and larger, edged rear emblems." Thanks and Happy New Year all, -Yogii AKA 968 Virgin |

968register.org Jeff I have bin to that sight. It has lots of useful information, but I do not see where it shows the different hood badges and different rear emblems. Please link that that specific page? Do you happen to know if an August 1993 build date, 1994 model year 968 coupe has the split torque tube that another thread here explains the problems with? Thanks and Happy New Year to you, -Yogii AKA 968 Virgin |

Hi Jeff,
I have been reading your posts and let me just say that YOU ARE AWESOME! I would like to buy you a beer at a Cubs game if you are ever in Chicago but I recently had a close friend and client pass away and his widow had little information about his 1994 968 cabriolet with tiptronic. Can you work your magic with the VIN. I don't think there is anything very rare on it but the wheels are amazing. Its a chrome porsche wheel and I'm wondering if it is aftermarket or original. the VIN is WP0CA2967RS840470. Thanks for your help. Matt |

There is a lot of production related info in the E-newsletters. For the above check out the November 2015 issue.
Jeff Thank you Jeff, Took awhile to find it, but now I know why the recessed hood badge is big deal.:) -Yogii AKA 968 Virgin |

Matt FWIW - regarding chrome wheels, I believe chrome wheels for our cars were never 'officially' offered by Porsche. In my early days in the 928 community, there was discussion from time to time on this very topic - a well read and Porschephile was quick to note that Porsche did not endorse chrome plating of stock OEM wheels primarily due to concerns with the temperature fluctuations the wheels undergo in the plating process. |

Matt As for your car: RS840470 1 of 443 G1 Red cabs (most popular color on the cab) 1 of 221 G1 Red cabs with a cashmere interior and a black top. (most popular combo on the cab). #1431 of 2,008 NA cabs (92-95) #410 of 681 1994 NA cabs Factory options: LC Partial leather seats in Cashmere XD4 Painted crest center caps 249 Tiptronic transmission 437 Full power 8 way drivers seat A late 94 built in October or November of 1993 so it has all the late model years changes like the 993-stlye comfort seats and the lack of engine bay trim. Could you check the build date on the driver's door jam VIN sticker for me. It will read either 10/93 or 11/93. Thx |
