Looking for a clean 968
Anyone have any info on a clean well maintained 968 on the market?
I'm looking to spend 8-10k, high mileage is ok, manual only, and preferably a coupe, but if its nice enough I would consider cab. I've been cruising the usual sites..ebay, pelican, and craigslist, but nothing caught my eye. I'm located in the NY, so it would be ideal of it was close. Please let me know if you are interested in selling or know anyone who is.
Would even consider 944s2, if there is a clean one out there, but I never see them come up for sale.
Thanks.

Hey guys,
Looking for a 968, and found one near me, but with very high mileage for $7500. Can you folks give me your opinion on this one? Is this one priced ok?

welcome _________ (please introduce yourself) !
buy it. you can also save a lot of $$$ over the long haul by buying my engine (i'm changing over to V8 power).... take (my engine), flood the crankcase with oil, then fill the cylinders with remmington gun oil..... my engine is good for about 150~200 thousand more miles..... and for that matter, the engine currently residing (in the car you're thinking of buying) probably is good for 150~200 thousand more miles too.
mileage won't be so critically important as how well an engine's been cared for.
good luck !
Allan.

VIN, I don't know about that car. Very high mileage and any car that has been downgraded (6spd to a 5spd) scares me. If you can wait until April you should attend the Porsche club swap at Hershey. There are always a number of nice cars for sale in the swap and the car corral.

Obdurandina, hello, in a previous thread you mentioned you installed an alpine stereo. Are you satisfied with it and does the Bluetooth work to your satisfaction? I am looking to upgrade stereo in a recently purchased 968. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Check Pelican (Porsche for sale) there is one of the nicest 968 coupe there I've seen in a long time.Believe me my standard when searching for any P car are very higth & if I say it's nice it is .The car is a 95-coupe -6speed -mileage 79,268 miles with all service record .Color is black with Cashmere interior, and has the clear euro turn signals .The drawback is the owner asking $16,000 but let's take it this way would you rather buy cheap & be stuck with a money pit or have a trouble free machine that you don't have to spend 3 days out of the week trying to fix thing on it & take the joy out of owning such a car.Like Jeff mention I'll be worry a little about 968 witch has been tempered with.
yes I noticed that car in my searches, it is a very clean car, looks great with the twist rims, but 16k is out of my price range. If he came down 4-5k, I would consider it.
I think I'll just have to wait it out until the weather gets nicer, I'm sure some nice ones will show up for sale.

No Affiliation, there is 1994 black/cashmere cab for sale for 7,500 on this site, car is located in PA. Looks to be well maintained, and a very clean car.

There is also this very nice PCA concours winner for sell in your area a little mileage 182,400 miles but come with all maintenance records & a lot of goodies .It's a 1990 S2 owner asking $10,500 .

yes, the stereo head and system is great. but i just work the controls the old fashioned way, and have all my music available via a USB memory card that's wired from the rear of the alpine unit into the glove box.

Don't know but what I think the op is saying is if the seller of this beautiful 95-968 were to come down $4 or 5K he then will be interested in buying ,but it's not gone to happen not with such a nice car.Can you imagine the guy getting $11 -12k for his car he migth as well give it away.Mine is a 93 with only 83k klms a little over 50k miles & no way in the world will somebody will get it below $16 or17K .Don't know if you agree with me, but they are so much peoples out there eager to sell their 968 for peanuts that it migth be one of the reason the price is going down instead of up & if it keep one going we will be in the same boat as the 944 owners. In Canada here we seem to be a little more protected than you guys & the 968 is holding it's value fairly well, even for a 92 with a little over 100,000K miles the asking price will be around $15K.All the price mention are for car with up to date maintenance & pratically no issues or very small one. Exemple of a 92 for sale in montreal asking price $15k.
