Anyone know of a 968 with 9x17 ET44 Ruf wheels on the rear? I've heard that Rufs have been run on 944's but I calculate that they would stick out too far on a 968. Comments? Pictures?

Yes, I used to have those wheels. They look and fit great!

I HAVE OBTAINED 6 OF THOSE FROM RUF GERMANY DIRECTLY2 YEARS AGO .10X18 ET 61
THEY ARE SPEEDLINES AND VERY STRONG.

1.HEAVY,AND 275-295 TIRES DO NOT FIT UNLESS YOU MACHINE/CONTOUR
5 MM OF THE RIM LIP EITHER SIDE,FOR THE TIRE TO GO INSIDE THE RIM,ESPECIALLY THE OUTSIDE
FLAT SIDE
2. YOU NEED TO MACHINE/SMOOTH OUT THE HUMPS INSIDE THE RIMS,FOR THE TIRE TO FIT
EASY.
3. THEY WILL NOT FIT THE FRONT 968 HUBS,UNLESS YOU MACHINE THE BOSS INSIDE THE CENTRE,
OTHERWISE YOU NEED TO PUT 15 MM SPACERS AND LONG STUDS.

I HAVE 4 STILL IN THEIR BOXES IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED QUITE CHEAP ,THE OTHER 2 HAVE BEEN MODIFIED TO
9JX18.FOR USE IN THE FRONT.

THEY DO LOOK GOOD BUT THE HASSLE AND EXPENCE WERE NOT WORTH IT.

Savvas, those are obviously different Ruf wheels than the set Gene was asking about. Gene, yes the rear 17x9 Ruf wheels I had were ET44 - just searched through some old emails to confirm for you.

i think you may be right,although i did specify them for the 968,and was told were ok.
the rear problem was that we could not fit the tires ,any tire which rendered the wheels unusable
for any car,unless they were mchined down to size.

perhaps the 9jx17 et 44 is some specific RUF wheel for the US market.
Curious though what they had for the front?7.5X17 et 52?

just some update on the et 44.and front 56.7

These were made for the 911 original yellowbirds.
Saw 3 of those cars by chance last Friday belonging to a private collector,who took them out
for a spin in our local F1 TRACK.
