Default Porsche 968 broke down and then vandalized

Over the Thanksgiving holiday the Porsche 968 broke down on the freeway and was later vandalized. They smashed out the passengers side window and damaged the door. They stole all of my owners manuals and all of the personal items within my glovebox (flashlight, Porsche tire gauge, etc). They ripped out my stereo and jacked up the dash. Amateurs! They also damaged the back right wheel of the car for what reason I do not know.

So, it was towed to Stuttgart Southwest here in Tempe, Arizona where it is being evaluated and inspected by the police and insurance. I have no idea what caused the initial break down considering I recently had a lot of service performed on the car. All I can say is that whom ever did this I hope Karma pays them back!

Just curious -- was the car vandalised while broken down on the side of the freeway, or later on?

I was just wondering why it would be left unattended on the side of the freeway while you were waiting for the tow truck...

I had just gotten off work from a long day and was on my way home. It was around 7:30pm and it was already dark. I had to pick up my brother from the airport, so, it was a particularly bad time to have the car break down.

I had a friend pick me up and then drive me to a relatives house so I could borrow there car to pick up my brother from the airport. I then had to get a rental car and then drop the other car back off. Needless to say, by the time this was all done and said it was already midnight.

You have to understand that there where several major events going on in town, so, there where almost no rental cars (2 days for $250) available and no flat bed trucks until the next morning. It was quite a mess. When I finally did meet the flat bed truck early that next morning the damage was already done. It really makes me sick to go through this right now...

Makes me angry to see it happen at all! I really always try not to wish bad on anyone, and I just trust that people get what they deserve sooner or later... but seeing that happen, and knowing it's happened to me and people I know... it's hard not to grab a voodoo doll and rip it up.

I hope your insurance company hooks you up.

Sorry you've been in the wars with it, and hopefully the insurers will sort it quickly for you, although I appreciate that's scant consolation.

Someone tried to steal mine with a corksrcrew a few years back - made a mess of the driver's door lock and handle. As you say, amateurs.

Sorry to hear that!

I haven't seen your car on the road before. I have only seen 1 red coupe like mine and a black cab in the phoenix area. I was just at Stuttgart Southwest on Monday for an oil change and to fix a door handle rattle, but didn't see yours. Hope things turn out well!

That really sux. I've been burglarized a couple of times over the many years, and it is such an awful feeling when it happens. So sad that we have to contend with morons who make this their life's ambition.....

very sorry. these people aren't morons. as recently as about a hundred years ago you would do serious time for violating people's property rights. in many lovely places, you can do serious time for smoking a marijuana cigarette.

this is 10,000 times worse.

Gary in Massachusetts has glass and can possibly help with you replacing your wheel.... or 20th street might have one.
