Thanks od. Since continental came out with those high speed rated tires on the Veyron, I'm gonna give it a he'll of a shot, as I said earlier.

Hi. Just FYI the video I posted a couple of days ago under 'racing' has me hitting 7000rpm in fifth down a straight. Not quite 156Mph though. Closer to 150 mph apparently. Good luck with this. The cars are really wound up and noisy at these speeds. Be careful.

Just over 2minutes in is the straight.

Are you doing this close to your place? There is a perfect spot about 40-50 minutes outside LV. Divided highway, slight downhill(you can see for miles), no traffic.

AZ, I'm familiar with a few places in between Vegas and LA. Sine you are in AZ, you must know a spot on the way towards you. Let me know where it is. Only worry is coyotes are pretty common on the way to AZ. Would put a little wrinkle in the situation, you know?

i've been an advocate for proper remake of the front-engine Porsche that combines the better handling of the lighter 968, only on the superior wider, V8 platform. on OT, making such an argument usually falls on deaf ears....

with the death of Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, the 911 orgy continues on OT.....

i liked the guy... but i'm wondering,

should the worship of Porsche continue without a proper front-engine P-car, or building up at least 1 Cayman to the limit ?

IMO grinding such an axe is poor already enough for not to being done any further in a thread about someone's passing away.

that wasn't my intention at all, especially considering the man lived an extraordinary, long and full life. and i appreciate a great deal about what the Porsche family has done.... (in the fifteenth post, i make that much clear)... but, i also find the idea worshiping Ferdinand Alexander Porsche (who had plenty of input in what i believe was a fairly flawed carbuilding philosophy) where the front engine design has suffered, just a bit much....
