Default Fault Code Question

My Durametric Reader gave me the result of "Front Sensor-Left" Anyone know what this is?

Miles - probably the wheel speed sensor for the ABS. I'd bet it's clear in German, but looses something in the translation...

I've gotten that for the airbag when the light's been tripped, cleared the code and it was fine...is this for check engine or the airbag light?

Air bag light. I am installing a CS wheel and I am not sure my 3 ohm resistor is fooling the airbag circut.,but if it was the air bag itself wouldn't the fault code be "pill"? I have seen this before when the airbag was removed.

Another Question: When you install this wheel, do you lose the automatic turn signal turn off feature, when the "clock spring" is removed?

No, the tab on the back of the CS wheel cancels that headlights without the clockspring. Did you buy the piece for the horn that slides into the hole on the stalk cluster?

Try clearing the code and see if it returns, if you had the code even with the airbag installed, it may be a sensor in the bumper cover, or a fault with the airbag unit itself. If the airbag controller is faulty, you can eliminate the whole thing by clipping some wires...you can read about it at www.944s2.com

+1 on the airbag - I had that code replaced the crash sensor only to trace it back to the clock spring.. given the work you are doing I would focus on the connections from the steering wheel to the dash.

OK, I'm not always the sharpest tool in the box! I traced the clock spring wires to back under the dash and found the orange clock spring wire connector. This was tethered with a zip tie to a bunch of other wires. I presume this was done by my mechanic to tidy things up and keep them from rattling. Anyway, I put in the 3 ohm resistor, reset the fault codes. On restart airbag and master alarm remained off.

Just finished cleaning up. Correct me if I am wrong, my hub did not come with a tab to cancel the turn signals. So I cannibalized my clock spring and took the center piece with the little tab on it and took it apart until it resembled a washer with the tab on it. I installed it first then put on the hub, wheel, horn rings and buttoned it all up and everything works. Thanks for the guidance and suggestions, I couldn't have done it without you guys!

The back of the hub didn't have a little tab on it? I can take a pic of one of mine if you want, but as long as everything is working that's all that matters!

Is it an oem wheel or an aftermarket?

I am pretty sure the wheel is OEM but not 100% on the hub. I will try and post some pictures in the next few days.

Here is a picture of my CS Wheel installed. I spoke with the guy who sold it to me and he found the contact ring with signal tab on it. I should have it in a few days. For now my set up is functional.

Sooooo jealous...how much did you get yours for?

What's under the red switch cover? If your answer involves projectile weapons, I'll be twice as jealous...
