Because these days, whites and Asians really aren't allowed in Ivy league schools much, it's not like your day when students were just accepted on merit alone...

god that is embarrassing for those of us who ARE actually mechanical engineers. I guess I knew a few guys in school that were like that. They understood the books and intricate theories but had no idea how things actually worked. I guess they stayed to get advanced degrees. Scary.
It never ceases to amaze me how most highly-graduated people I get in touch with can't do anything with their hands.
Or maybe I'm just a redneck :roll:

A French redneck!?!? Now that's someone I'd like to meet. I bet he hates the French Football (Soccer, for us Americans) Team more than I do.

I have friends and relatives in ivy league schools and in community college. There is an even distribution of geniuses and idiots. One physicist friend in Berkeley still thinks a turbo makes the exhaust go back into the engine.
