Default TA shift linkage

On the right side of the TA there is a cover and inside is the shift linkage. I have sheared a roll pin on the linkage but can't figure how to get the linkage out to replace the roll pin. Anyone have any experience or diy on this?

Thanks, Mike

Mike- yep.... Remove the two top detent bolts first - Red arrows, Parts #1 and #2 then the three cap screws that hold the cover on -Part#3 blue arrows - remove the cover and O ring- part #4 be aware that pieces may fall out ( broken #8s) and the shaft and rotating assy ( part#7 and 8 ) that shifts the gear will be able to be accessed. What is happening is you are shifting, the shaft is rotating but the reaction assy is staying still. One pic is of the as found condition of Rich Sandor's car (Rich gets credit for the pics I am pretty sure these are from his car.) then pics of the shaft, broken pin and replacement. Rich ahd a post that may of us replied to for this same issue in 2008. Titled "NEED GEARBOX HELP" - suprised I remembered.

I hope this helps.

Cheers, Mike

That is exactly the problem. I am having an issue getting to the one detent bolt that is in the "back". Once I get the detent bolt out does the assembly come out?

Thanks for the help!!!
