there's no shame at all in running big hp and getting that far up the tach on such a short straight like you have at nhms.... i know you're running a turbo, but with all due respect, i'm suspicious... are you in stock gear trim ? if so, given our non-linear, speedo defect and your tire ratio.... that's right, our speedo's are not 100 % linear.... i'm guessing that your racing tires are about 24.80" and the result is you're getting a combined reading that's off by at least 7~9 %. i believe your true speed is closer to 145~150... at watkins glen, the fastest 944s and 968s running turbos have never been much past 140 mph after exiting out of the elbow (turn 4) onto the long backstraight (which i believe is longer than the straights at nhms)... my thinking is you wouldn't easily get much faster over such a short span.
on our non-linear speedos; if you run a large-diameter 25.6" 275-35-18 tire, you will make exactly 100 mph at 4000 rpm (exactly)... the speedo will read about 104.... at 6000 rpm you'll be going exactly 150 mph, but your speedo will be reading close to 156~157 mph...... why ? because Porsche wanted it that way..... i turned my speedo back about 4 mph, and i'm running big tires, but it still isn't perfect as it only reads close to exactly right at about 120 mph. at 150 my speedo is reading maybe a bit north of about 151 by then.
