Cheap 968 FS - Any Info?

Damian, funny you should ask. I just emailed the owner and asked the name of the mechanic and shop he referred to in the ad. Also some other questions. I'll let you know what he says.

If you are patient and not too picky about color you will find the car you are looking for. You are right about looking for a quality example rather than a project. If you find one far away I would highly suggest going to get it yourself for two reasons. The main reason is that they always look better in the pictures. The other reason is that driving your new 968 home from out of state would be a lot of fun. My 2 days of driving home from CA was the most fun I had in years.

I've never had any work done there personally, but I've seen waterpumpers there being worked on.

I have to respectfully disagree with you Aaron that low miles significantly hurt a car. As long as something was kept out of the weather I see no harmfull effects to the mechanics for low miles as long as it was run every once in a while. I would love to have a 968 with about 400 miles on it. As far as the down side of 968's in general I just purchased my 968 for under $7 so hopefully I have purchased at the bottom and things will stable out from here. It needs some things but from my extensive search looking for mine over the last few months you should be able to find a quality low miliage tip for around $12. Good luck in your search as they are great cars that I think will have great collector value someday. If I am wrong about them being great collector cars that just means cheaper used parts prices for a car that we all know is a blast to keep on the road.
