Just joined this site because I am searching for a 968 to buy! I am not sure how to send you an email.
If you click on my name, 'sscarpen', you can send me an email. I'd like to know a few more details about the car and maintenance.
I had one, guards red with 80k on it that sold the day I had an appointment to go see it, so I'm still looking. Talk to you soon!

Since I am getting so many requests for the maintenance history, I decided to post it here:
I have most of the important receipts and took a quick look through them:
I purchased the car in 1996 used from Schneider and Nelson Porsche in NJ. The car had 19k miles on it; I don't know anything about the first 19k miles.
Shortly after purchasing it I put a CD changer, A B&B triflow catback exhaust and a chip on the car.
At 43k, summer of 1997, all belts were changed, including timing, balance and steering.
In 1998, at 51k, the clutch was replaced with a C2 Turbo pressure plate. The release bearing and pilot and needle bearings were replaced along with the flywheel. Brakes were done.
In 1999, at 71k the balance shaft belt was replaced due to failure.
In 2000, at 75k, a new clutch master and slave cylcinder were installed, and a major 75k service was done.
In 2007, at 81k, a service was done and all belts checked OK.
Since then, only fluid changes and other minor service.
Among other minor repairs over the years: the hatch motor was replaced, the sunroof mechanism was replaced, the cooling fan switch was replaced.
As you can see from the history, the car was my daily driver from 1996 to 2000, which is where 50k miles were put on the car. Since 2000, only 8k miles have been put on it. It was driven regularly, mostly on weekends about 1000 miles per year. I essentially retired it from daily driving duties.
Hope this helps, Steve

I was in his town today, didn't see a 968 but a brave soul was out in a very nice 356, even though the roads were still a bit wet. If someone wants another set of eyes to look at the car I'm down in that area weekly.

Yeah, took her for a spin today...why am I selling this car??? The new suspension is awesome, the B&B exhaust was howling...there's nothing like this car between 3000 and 6000 rpms. Boy I'll miss her!

I'll never forget when I just bought it in 1996, I was asking myself "what the heck am I ever gonna replace this car with now that they don't make them anymore?". Thats one of the reasons I retired it from daily driving in 2000.
One more shot, notice the river froze!
