Question 968 performance cams.

Just checking a new thread
Has anyone tried higher lift/duration cams on the 968 coupled with better airflow and chip/and or jigher flow injectors, and a 3 inch straight through
exhaust system?

Give Jon a call, no one has a better reputation. He doesn't list any on his website but they are available.

I've got milledge cams in my car. Nice boost in the midrange. My car is a little rough at idle, but I think some of that could be credited to the shot motormounts.

Todd, do you have any before and after dynos? Are you using the same chip with the cams?

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but can you give us some detail on the car in your post and avatar? Feel free to start a new thread.

WEBCAM lists 2 versions, one for modified ones and one version with 1 mm higher lift and about 10 degrees more duration.

Any experience with these?

RS Barn makes some nice cams just for 968's. They work well for me.

I really have a poor perspective on the changes, I hadn't driven the car for a year before I drove it with the cams in. I hadn't planned on changing the cams, so I didn't do any before dynos. My father had been driving the car the year prior to installing the cams and he took the car to IMA to install Konis, M030 anti-sway bars, and look the car over before I came home from deployment. They found some teeth missing on the cams that were in the car and had a set of Millege cams in the shop to put in the car. This was done with about 68k mi. The car has airbox mod, Autothority chip(I have the early early DME VIN#...076 so my choices are limited), stock exhaust. Like I said before, the motor is a little rough down low, which I think I can blame some of that on the bad motor mounts. It takes a little more gas to get the clutch out now. It feels stronger from the lower end of the variocam range through redline, my father noticed a difference as well and he'd been driving the car more than I had at the time. I don't know if it's a good enough gain for the money, but on the 968...
I am going to install a 3 bar fpr and see if that helps down low, but I really need a better chip or piggyback. I'm looking into this for my 951, it may be a solution for the 968 too:

Unlike Milledge and WEBCAM who grind their own, rsb cams are made by Michael Mount at Burtonsville Performance Machine in Maryland. Milledge has a 100K inhouse dyno that he uses to design the profiles.

Cheaper as well, if you send JM your cam, he'll grind them for around $900.
