Hi gang,
Where can I find step by step instructions for timing belt replacement on 968?
The last one I did was 944NA about 10-11 years ago...
Just bought a car, drove it from CA to Chicago, but looks like belts need to be replaced, so I started replacement process...
Got all the front covers off... waiting for a flywheel lock...
so I can take a crank pulley off...
Any help will be appreciated.

I did my first and only one using Clarks garage instructions. I was going over the carfax report last night on a new to me car, and looks like I'm doing another one real soon. Last one was done 11 years ago!

Yeah... pretty easy, when you do it often enough... just time consuming...
BTW, did the pump as well... since I was there anyways...
Next step will check a cam chain rails for possible replacement...

Nooo!!
You should have done the chain and rails while you were doing the timing belt. You will need to remove the timing belt to do this. You could potentially get away with just removing the timing belt while keeping the bs belt still on.
Good luck.
