Default Help: S2 with 968 engine transplant - Tach not working

Anyone have any suggestions on where/what to look for? It has even sort of stumped my mech.

That's one of the things I could not get to work so I wired directly to the coil.

I believe that you attach directly to the (-) side of the coil.

Check the wire coming off of the DME to the connector at the back of the dash. If there is continuity try checking it with a scope to see if you pick up a signal. If you don't have a signal, then check to see if there are any hall sender codes or anything like that.

+1 To 968workaholic,

The tachymeter signal goes via the DME connector in passanger footwell and as you need to modify that to supply +12V to pin #7 for 968 DME on S2 you might've a loose connection OR broken wire.
