Default Crankcase breathing etc.

Hey, I am wondering a bit about the crankcase breather, in one post, someone mentioned that it could get clogged or something. The thing is, 4 or 5 times in the last few years, I have opened the hood to find the dipstick popped up. This would indicate excessive pressure in the crankcase, either not getting out as it should or excessive blow-by. The car has 200 000 km on it, the top has been done (180k), the valves were tested before the job and showed no leakage, so they were good, and the rings looked good as far as we could tell. I know a valve job will sometimes show that the rings are worn out, but aren't the bottoms (rings etc) of these cars pretty robust? As far as power, the car seems good and there is no excessive oil usage either.

Sounds like some hose routing problem. Check the hoses going to oil filler assembly (on top of it).

You might want to remove your intake manifold and check the breather hose and make sure its not clogged up. These engine build a lot of gunk on the intake from redirected air. Either your hose is kinked or clogged.
As you suggested, the rings are very robust and 200k miles is not out of norm for these engines.
Regards.

Yes, then I will have to take a look at the the hoses around there. Thanks for the help.
