968 Turbo RS Information

Michelle, with all the work that car will need (you were already going to rebuild the engine), why don't you just build your own, especially rather than dealing with an ignoramous that has mistreated you already? Either way isn't going to be cheap, but starting at $30k and still having to go through the engine doesn't sound like a bargain to me. I saw this car at Hershey shortly before John left for Australia and wasn't overly impressed, the quality seemed a bit "off" and that was when it was freshly built. I can't imagine sitting for five years has improved the car.
I bet you could build a better car for less money.
Regards,

Sound advice Scott. I would only buy the car if he SUBSTANTIALLY reduced the price. Otherwise, I think I've already found the donor car I want

Tomjshore,
I worked at the Porsche dealership that built your car. I know a little of its history and still keep in contact with the tecs that built and worked on your 968. Let me know how you want me to contact you about your car if you are interested.

Thanks to everyones quick help it seems I have found the original car that my factory 3.0l turbo motor came from. Its at the RS Barn in Pa.
The stories all match from the beginning.

That would be a genuine Turbo S with a non Porsche RS 'conversion' that doesn't include the original Turbo S motor. I don't what you'd call that. What motor exactly is in that car? From the pictures seen in an earlier thread the front seemed almost totally bent, with no motor in sight. Great car, though, the Turbo S. Love the Speed Yellow too!

It is 1 of 14 factory Turbo S cars, was converted to RS spec by Wienmann Motorsport and used as a back up car at lemans but never actually raced. A special car indeed. Under the hood is a factory motor with a ton of HP and a nice flat AFR.
It was involved in an accident and professionally rebuilt. The picture above was taken after it was refurbished. Amazing car.

I've got the original factory motor in my car-does this car have its? I'm fine calling it a replica Turbo RS, as it wasn't born an RS, and wasn't 'converted' by Porsche. It is to a RS what many of the cars like the HMR conversions are to a Turbo S.

What is your point exactly? The car is a factory Turbo S which was converted to RS spec by weinmann motorsport. I dont think anyone is claiming it is a Factory Turbo RS (there are only 4 of those, and this is not one of them). On that token, i dont think anyone claims their replica Turbo S is a factory conversion either. This car however, is 1 of 14 factory Turbo S cars, which was converted shortly after it left the factory. And that my friend, makes it a very special car indeed.
With that said, i don't see any correlation with your cab. Its great that you have the original engine, most people do. Most Replica Turbo S's do not however. Doesn't make those cars any less special. From Boost Feens Turbo S replica that was recently sold, too Raj''s Turbo S replica which has been beutifully refurbished, to Pete's Turbo RS Replica which has also been refurbished. They are all special cars. The fact that Pete's car started life as an Original Turbo car makes it that much more special. The attention to detail...down to the OEM CF STB is amazing. This, like other's is a car you appreciate that much more when you see it in person.
