Default Symptoms of Fuel Pressure Regulator Failure

I'm trying to diagnose a weird situation. I have a rough idle and some loss of power. I then get some additional power loss over 5500 rpm.

I'm beginning to suspect the FPR.

Any thoughts

First thing is to see if gas leaks out the vacuum port if you pull the hose off. Try it first with the engine off, if no gas dribble try it at idle but with the engine cold and be ready to put out a fire if need be (not likely but be ready anyway.)

Check the damper too, it can leak the same way.

It's also possible for a regulator to stick and the fuel pressure to run high, so if the last tests do not help, hook up a pressure gauge to the rail and check the pressure, both with the vacuum line on and off.

Did you try cleaning the MAF with MAF cleaner from CRC?
