I would measure what spacing is left between your particular floor jack and your particular suspension/wheel setup.

Spark,

What model Quickjack are you using? I'm curious if the 5000SLX fits.

Hugo.

The 5000SLX is what I have. It fits really well. It comes with two sets of four lift blocks. The tall blocks won't fit under a 968 but the shorter blocks will work by itself, however, you have to angle the blocks to miss the rocker covers. The lift pucks I mentioned are smaller than a hockey puck in both thickness and circumference and allows you to center the quickjack block to the lift points without threatening the rocker covers.

Resurrecting this thread as I need help deciding which of the 2 apparent jack points in the rear of my 1993 968 Cab are correct.

Just picked up the car yesterday - put in on my QuickJack - and then noticed the two points, one essentially on the frame and the one to the left in the first picture is effectively bolted on to the frame inside the rear wheel well, which didn't feel right. I used the one that seemed to be directly under a frame rail - but per the manual the only jack points are suppose to be in front of and behind the door - but the rear one I chose is not quite behind the door. Car is stable on the QuickJack, but of course I intend on leaving it on the quickjack for quite a while as I work on the car and do not want to damage the frame.

The other challenge is the jack points that I am not using (in the wheel well) are essentially covered on the bottom by the lip of the plastic cladding and I would have to bend/move them out of the way.

Any advice appreciated.

I can't answer the jacking point question, but how do you like the QuickJack? They're currently $300 off at Costco so I ordered one last week.

they are a little heavy but I lift and carry to place them anyway

Great height (until I give up and do a 4 post), feel secure enough (although this is the highest I’ve ever had a car and the first time I’ll be crawling underneath it.

but totally solves the question of “how to I jack and place a jack stand at the same spot” (there are other solutions as well)

I did buy extension hoses (from them bc it was cheapest) which allowed me to permanently mount the pump - which is awkward and heavy

definitely recommend

That is what the jacking points look like, they’re in the position posted of the arrows on the race car above.

I use one of these that matches the cup on my floor jack. But thes rubber ones look pretty slick.

AFAIK, These are NLA.

Just remember to remove the pucks after the job is complete! I heard stories of them falling off cars on the track while at speed and wreaking havoc.

I have heard that hocky pucks fit the concave lift platform of most hydraulic floorjacks. You just line up the puck with the hole.
Has anybody ever needed to use the OEM, single legged jack?

Good point. The metal one I have just barely hangs in the hole and hangs just far enough below the bodywork to spot the jack. It generally either comes off with the jack when I lower it or falls out when I pull the jack out.

Costco promo runs until 11/17

I wish you could get liftbars for the transaxle cars. I had them for my 996, combined with a good low-profile floor jack they were fantastic. (sold the car, still got the liftbars )

I thought a few years ago that somebody was going to give LiftBars the dimensions of the 968 mounting holes and they were going to make a few?
Anybody know more?

Can you provide a URL that lists the promo end date? I don't see anything listed online. I'd like to order so it arrives the week after Thanksgiving, so right near the end of the promo. Thanks.
