So the shift linkage caused the issue? I guess it is lucky it ended up in a gear. I lost a bolt in the linkage once in an 8 hour race and was lucky to coast into the pits with only neutral. Lost twenty minutes in finding and fixing the problem. The shift linkage above the transaxle is a nasty place to work on a red hot car! The linkage now gets loctite and an extra check before long races.

I had the exact opposite problem. The one bolt gradually started binding more and more against the "articulating" block throughout the season. Finally, at Daytona, it became a weight-lifting type endeavor to change into/out of any gear..... Back at the garage , getting the assembly out was an endeavor of epic proportions! Can't imagine doing that in the middle of an Enduro... 20 minutes is lightning fast!

Well.. We didn't fix the shifter linkage during the race, Filip found out after the race. But we did replace a half-shaft during the race on both 968's.. On Filip's car it was i think a 20min job. On the other car about 45min as one of the bolts had broken off..
