Default ProMax 7100 Chip at altitude?

Just bought a used ProMax 7100 chip.

And it also looks as if I'm going to spend a good bit of time in the San Juan Mountains of SW Colorado. My most frequent commute from Telluride to Ridgway sees elevations in the 7000-9000' range.

Should I go ahead and install the chip, or wait until I'm back to lower elevations?

There shouldn't be any problem with the altitude difference. If anything it will run a little rich which is better than it running lean.

Got the chip yesterday, and I can't wait to install it. It's a friggin' blast driving out here in something other than an SUV.

Hi All,

A quick seach on the Internet for ProMAX Motorsport Milton Keynes should find them.

Regards,
Andrew

Took me about 15-20 minutes to install the chip yesterday morning. At first start-up, the exhaust smelled a bit rich. I texted Raj to ask if the chip required a learning period, and he responded to just drive and enjoy.

As I took to the road, I found that the chip really smoothened out the power band and allowed revving well past redline. I really appreciated the extra oomph available on the long sweeping curves, as it's my habit to maintain throttle rather than coast, and then accerate gently out of turns.

The highest altitude I reached on the way from Montrose to Telluride was 9000' on Dallas Divide. It's possible I had no problem accelerating beyond 100 mph (that's all I'm saying!) at that altitude.

A beautiful drive made even better with the ProMax 7100 chip.

I've gone through two tanks of fuel now, and my driving habits haven't changed. I'm getting 27.4 mpg. I was hovering around 25 mpg with the stock DME since bringing the car to Colorado.
