My 93 has the 490 code and an amp under each seat. Interestingly, my amps had 928 part numbers.

Jeff - Just checked my 93 cab and just as "rpm" noted - 2 Amps and I see the 928 part number on the Bosch connector.

Considering this new evidence and the obvious similarities of our Slant Four Sixteen valve engine aaaand ... pop up head lights - we can now say for sure our porsches were ment to be 928-2's not the so called 944-3 as some have assumed. We do not own a "entry level 911" but rather the closest thing to a 928 Super Cabrio. IMHO

I have the 10 speaker stereo in my 93 coupe but I've looked under the seats and see NO amplifiers. WTH? Where under the seats are they supposed to be?

They are way down in there. hard to see without actually removing a seat.

Here is a partial picture of my driver's side AMP. You can see where the seat mounts (and all the change I found).

Ah hah!

Thanks for the pic. I see those little boogers now under my seats.

Where do the wires run. Along the tunnel under the carpet?
Which side is for the fronts?

I think I may have bypassed both amps when I did my head-unit install.

Are the amps even worth hooking back up?

Thanks.

When I upgraded the system I bypassed them and left them down there. Someday I'll get around to pulling them.
