I've been in contact with Paul about this car numerous times. He has never given me a definitive answer, but it appears it is sold. If someone else would call to confirm, I'd actually appreciate hearing. I always got the feeling that he didn't want to sell the car to me (he told me in our first conversation it was too much car for someone who "didn't understand its power" or something like that).

Huh, that seems like a very obnoxious stance on his part. Who is he to decide what is too much of a car for you.

Or perhaps he's afraid that he'd be found out by you on some deficiency that he's hoping the eventual buyer won't check out? If he's serious about selling, and if he knows you are serious and have the money...there's virtually no rational reason he wouldn't sell. Sounds fishy.

The car has serious engine issues; he knows that and so do I. He told me the potential buyer was having a PPI done and they were going to work out a deal based on what it would cost to fix it. I told him I was interested even with the engine issues and called him 3 times over a 6 week period to see if the car had sold. Each time he said they were still working on it, but there was hesitation in his voice like he was trying to remember what he told me previously, not something that had happened (I have some experience with this ). The last time we spoke he said it was sold. It's now been nearly 3 months since I first contacted him and the car is still listed on the web page even though it is sold. Perhaps he is just slow in changing his site.

Michelle, all you have to do is have some one else call there inquiring about the car. If its still there, then he lied.
That simple.
I just called and got a vm. I will try again later.

Thanx Raj. I was hoping someone here could do that - although I don't know to what end.

I seem to remember a thread discussing the car but, what were the issues with it again?

Compression problems across the cylinders. Probably a ring problem, but don't know for sure.

When I tried to contact Paul, I got NO response over email. I had to call.

Its hard to get a hold of him. He hardly seems to be there and if you don't catch in person, chances are your message will not get returned.
