it's just what exellence magazine quoted, I take them as an expert in valuation of porsche.

that price assumes that the car has the original 968 hatch which your does not and the original wheels so your car would seem to be worth less than the $5k listed in excellence... having said that you should double check the value since I'm just going on what I remember from reading it the other day in the book store (i.e. I don't have the magazine sitting in front of me.)

i just got back from reading the magazine and this message popped into my mailbox so the price is fresh in my mind (although it may be inaccurate.)

i also don't think that selling a stripped down parts car (wrong hatch, wrong wheels) that you prob got for $3k or less for $8 when its valued at $5k or less by excellence magazine (and common sense) isn't very ethical

why would you say i like to argue? lol

edit: (having said that i still hope you get the most possible for your car)

What do you think of people who buy dozens of decent unwrecked great driving Porsches and strip them down to every last nut and bolt then sell off all the parts and cut them up with sawzall's and Stihl cut off saw's for the crusher to smash and recycle into tin cans?

Excellent....makes my cars that much rarer.

Just kidding.....good luck with the sale. I would consider it if you weren't so far away. It would make a good candidate for a race/track car.

I think you will find Excellence, had a typo on the value of 92's.
That said, the car is not stripped down, just missing a couple items.
How can you even come up with a price if have seen or driven the car?
Are you saying because it is missing the hatch and wheels this car is worth no more than a 944?

This has nothing to do with ethics. It is his car he can ask what he wants.
Quite frankly, this car, from the little info I have read (about what you have read)
IMHO I think this car is priced right.

Excellence wouldn't know the street value of a 944/968 car is you ran the witers over with one.
