Default Wear your Helmet- motorcycle crash story

A truck was traveling down the highway at around 1 o'clock in the morning near Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Motorcyclist was traveling at ~120mph and ran into the back of the moving semi-truck.

Truck driver said he felt the impact, and it took almost a 1/4 mile for him to pull over.

This is what he found...

He was out for hours but lived with broken bones and scraped up a bit... Can you say Holy @##$

This circulated last year (Fall-ish) and the story had a different ending to say the least...

I would tend to believe the previous story where the motorcyclist perished- if he was doing 120 and the truck was doing (speculation) 70-80, the impact at 40-50 mph more than likely would have caused enough trauma to kill, if not at the scene, then certainly not long after due to massive internal bleeding / organ damage. This would be akin to driving a motorcycle into a stationary wall while travelling at 40-50 mph, head-on.

I have a hard time believing this individual lived. Can you post a link to the article in the local paper?

That is very scary. Those are very horrific pictures.

Looks like at that point the jacket and helmet were useless.

I recieved the above from a biker friend I ride with sometimes who is a big Hemet advocate. Come to find out he actually dod not make it and was dead on impact. The e-mail circulating around come to find out is about a year old. I gues you cannot believe everything you read.

Yeah he died on impact. Notice the lack of blood near his feet, just a few drips. He hit hard enough and was dragged enough distance to remove his boots/shoes. It appears he still had one sock on, that would have been soaked in blood from being dragged on the cement. There is no sign of blood pressure, his heart was not pumping and most likely stopped a second or two after impact. Sad thing to see.

Deathcycles are for nutcases. I was one of the few drivers in recovery at John Muir from a car accident. All the others were bikers. I fell of my bicycle so many times going back and forth to school. (grade school) You just aren't save on them.

I am a motorcycle rider and find it not only very upsetting but its wrong to be posting macabre pictures like this. Let the poor man be dead without public spectacle please.

Not having a go at anyone - just let it go - or remove this thread.

+1 let the man rest in peace.

As for wearing helmets, well, anyone who thinks they can ride without a helmet is stupid. Sometimes I want to wear a helmet while in a car too.

Is this really a true story? I find it hard to believe someone actually got those pictures. Pretty horrific.
