I can rebuild that engine for you. NA or turbo is your choice, I can do either. Just keep me fed and we're square.

I can't say for certain because I've never seen that car in particular, but let's try some optimism:

Maybe he thinks it needs a rebuild because it has high mileage. My blue car has 223k with no rebuilds. $1800 in body damage might just mean it needs a dent fixed and to be repainted by the most expensive pro painter around. Or you can buy a replacement panel and paint it off-car for half that. Variocam, belts, etc - I can do all that for you. A wrenching party to get Lord back into his Galva. The tranny just needs some proper fluid, and some double-clutching in the cold mornings. Suspension stuff is stupid-easy.

I never see listings like this when I search on craigslist, because I put a price range on my search. But some chodes like this refuse to ask a price so their listings don't get as much exposure.

Yes, you are crazy to spend 9K on that car.

body damage 2000
faded/blistered paint 1000-6000
water pump 300
brake rotors 400

If I had that car and an offer of 9K, I'd sell it on the spot. I bet his claim of a standing offer is BS.

Ha ha. This is the car spotted in Napa not too long ago.
I don't see the paint issues.
I my only concerns are:
"Engine light comes on which indicates air flow meter or computer going bad"
"Transmission Syncros & Gears"

I would never pay 9k for a car with a bad tranny.

Judging from the pics there was a leak in the trunk, he is hiding the seats, hiding the shifter, paint looks good but what is up with the mirrors?
Also, you guys might like the wheels but I don't. Blegh.

Just because he forgot to post interior pics doesn't mean it's trashed.

The car looks nice except the dash mat, the black mirrors, and the viper wheels.

My car also has a problem that manifests itself as a synchro issue, but it is infact incomplete disengaging of the clutch disk. When the clutch can't disengage all the way, it stays stuck to the flywheel, and when trying to shift it's like trying to shift without even using the clutch. So if feels like bad syncrhos.

Again, just being optimistic!

The CEL... I don't know. Spray some brake cleaner in the MAF and it will be fine.

On the last pic, look at the carpet just above the trunk light. It looks badly discolored.

With the amount of miles on it a dash crack is likly. I had a very small one at 120k and was also planning on getting a dash mat to prevent it from spreading.
I can overlook the black mirrors because they can be easily removed and reprayed.
The wheels, I would sell to make up the cost of having the pinion fixed. (if it hasn't been addressed already) Then I wouldn't have to sell my wheels. Yay!

Looks nice. The carpet doesn't necessarily mean water damage. My old NA sat in the sun for a few years and it had the same type problem. The carpet starts to disintegrate. Also you might be able to figure out whats causing the light to come on by catching blink codes. I figure the 968 has the same test port as a 951. Maybe the "chips" are crappy and causing the light.

On another note... too bad this isn't a coupe, easy fixin.

Holy ****, that's the red 968 I saw a couple weeks ago in Redwood City! Notice the chrome wheels and side mirrors painted black:

I have similar sun damage on my rear carpet in the same areas. It's UV damage - it destroys the poor carpet.

I have 172k miles and only a couple minor dash cracks. It's hard to say, just based on mileage, how bad the dash will be.

When was the last time a pinion bearing failed? Weren't most of them already addressed? Especially if it has that many miles on it?

Not defending the car, just playing opposing advocate.

Yep. I was trying to find out who posted about that but I couldn't remember who it was.

The reason I don't like tan, it comes with easy to bleach carpet.
Also, the ad doesn't mention if the p/b was fixed.
I was also under the impression the p/b was a permanent problem that you could silence for $5k but could never fix.

If the price were a little lower, you could part that car out and make a few bucks. Not me but someone else maybe.
