Default rear tires slightly wider

Was trying to order 225/50-16 tires for the rear. Rears wear out 2:1 vs the fronts for me.

Tirerack no longer carries this size, so they sold me 245/45-16 instead. They said they would fit no-problem. (these are Avon tires - so can't buy elsewhere)

What do you think? Should I expect any problems?

The speedo works from the front and your rear tires should not effect it.

I was thinking about the width fitting the rims... but no-one brought that up so it's probably a non-issue. Thanks for the inputs...

The tire manufacturer will specify a range of rim widths that can be used with a particular tire. They will also usually give you an ideal rim width for best performance. Go to Avon's site and look up the specs for your tire.
