I've decided that I would like to take the next step and get someone to take a look at this car and if it passes visual inspection then I would arrange for a more complete PPI.
The car is an '89 NA that has had a '93 968 engine transplant, supposedly professionally done. Also transplanted were the 968 brakes and wheels, along with the transmission from an S2. I have only limited pix at this point, but it looks to be in decent shape. According to seller it has had very recent belts, recent new factory control arms, fairly recent sport clutch and Koni adjustables all around. I'm thinking this car would be a blast to drive, but I'm not sure if I would be asking for trouble as far as reliability and maintenance goes. Am I safe in assuming that a competent Porsche mechanic wouldn't have any undue problems with a "hybrid" like this? Also some concern about gas mileage, but I'm assuming that it would be at least as good as a "regular" 968 -- 20-27??. Any advice or opinions welcome, especially relating to things to ask and watch out for in a PPI.
If anyone is in the Clearwater/St. Petersburg/Tampa Bay area and wouldn't mind taking a preliminary look at this car for me, I'd be happy to pay for your time and trouble. Recommendations for a shop to perform a more complete PPI also needed.
TIA.

If this is Matt Os car, I remember the swap and seems to be a sorted out car. Have you checked out www.944s3.com ?

This isn't Matt's car "Argento," as described on that website, but the specs sound pretty similar.

Mechanically the swap is fairly easy, I did it with my 924S track car. For me the problem was with the electronics, which would have been much easier for me since the car is stripped of most electonics. For the PPI, make sure that the electrical system is in good shape.
