Default How Much Power can a NA 968 Motor Make?

I tried several searches to find the power output of a really built (racing) 968 motor and came up with zilch (well, other than some chipped stock motors).
Anyone know of a really well-developed motor and it's approximate output?

People have claimed number but I have yet to see any dynocharts from anyone laying claim.
I did see Rich Glickel's car in person on the dyno and it had made 233rwhp in the past. Hopefully he will chime in.
There was a 968 in Europe that claimed 300hp sometime back.

Wouldn't the complete Rs Barn set up be a really well developed motor.

I expect to have my motor done by late spring, and it will have had the following work done

performance cams
performance headwork
headers
lightweight flywheel

I already have Dave G's airbox mod along with a high flow cat and exhaust from Cargraphic. Prior to any mods I was getting around 205hp on a Dynojet. After the work is complete I'll have it dyno tuned.

The tuner I'm using (who will remain nameless until I finish) says to expect 10hp each from the first three mods, so if I'm getting the expected gains from the Dave G airbox mod, and the TUV supported claims from the Cargraphic stuff, toss in the optimization from custom dyno tuned chip I'm shooting for close to 45hp extra hp at the rear wheels, so this'll be close to 290 or so at the flywheel. To my knowledge I haven't seen independently proven dyno charts from anyone's total package, whether it be RSB or Powerhaus or 9M.

Thanks for the clarification.

I dunno. Would it be a really well developed motor with that stuff bolted on?
Hard to say, as there was no data provided on the site relating the actual performance gains.

So Raj came up with one built motor that claimed 300 hp. Nothing else out there? No solid lifter conversion running 8500 rpm with matched cams/header/head out there?

Try contacting Jon Milledge. He is the master of high revving, high HP NA cars. He is not a reseller but who actually works on the motor.

A lot of banter went around for a while with individual throttle bodies, 9M would be willing to try it but they don't think there would be enough return to spend the $$ developing it. Frankly, I like the idea of supersharp instant throttle response vs a turbo, but for max hp you can't beat it. I've driven both turboed and s/c 968's so I do have a frame of reference. I've not had a ton of time in turboed cars, but Raj's car is insanely fast.

Of course I've been in a Club Sport with slicks on a road course in the UK, and boy the car was gobbling up 911's . . .

Thanks Raj.
I'm sure he knows the answer, but I'd feel bad wasting his time, as I'm just curious about what might be a good platform with the new PCA GT rules, but am a good bit of time away from actually doing anything about it. I thought somebody here might know off the top of their head of someone that's really built one of these things (a 968 motor that is).

For some reason people in the 968 world tend to be very secretive.
These motors are out there.

Russ, we plan to doing something in the next few months and will share results with everyone. As Damian stated, it will be a bunch of bolt-on and dyno tuning.
I do agree with your statement though, bolt on stuff is nice and all, but for an all out motor, you need to look at all the components. Unfortunately, the price starts creeping up very quickly. I know of a guy who could build you a 320hp NA motor which like you said, will rev like crazy, but it will also cost you upwards of $20K.
For most people its just too expensive and most of the gains would not be visible on the street where many of us drive. Kinda becomes hard to justify it for most.

C'mon Richard, tell us your secret. The best Dyno pulls (dynojet) my Frankie has shown are in the 218-220 rwhp range running an open pipe.

233 rwhp with a pca legal engine is a major work of art!!!!!! What doe you think the driveline loss is? The guy who runs the Dyno I go to says IRS has an 18%-20% loss.
