Hi, reviving a thread, as with Lithium Ion Batteries now under $1000 for a version weighing around 2.2 lb, or 1kg, its looking very appealing.

Does anyone know what sort of battery size we actually need to start a 968 engine?

Background
I am trying to figure out which one to get. These things even have a carbon fibre case to save weight.

I'm of the opinion that it takes a significant amount of juice to turn over and start our cars.

so I'm guessing this one, fully charged, minimum....

Thanks. Does anyone know the actual CCA or Cold Crank Amp needs for a 968Clubsport, with non-aircon option????

i.e.: It has the factory 968 light weight alternator, battery and the factory light weight loom too that only 968CS with no aircon ran.

I've seen several folks running small jetski batteries in 944 track cars. Those run about 300cca.

Another option might be the Shorai lithium iron battery. I'm using one in my KTM 950, and while they are geared to the motorcycle and ATV market, there are some guys in the Lotus and Miata crowd that use them.
