Default Rear Hatch Carpet

OK..I know I am asking some simple questions lately....but on my previous 94 968 I remember the back hatch carpet having snaps along the back. My 95 has velcro stips sewn into the carpet (on the back side) and little hook buttons along the hatch opening. Am I crazy or did Porsche change this in the last year of production. Or has someone replaced the 968 rear carpet with 944 carpet?

Wow man, your car is gorgeous. That carpet is odd however.

Default Thanks

Thanks....the exterior pictures that are up on the web site are from the previous owner. I just took the hatch pictures to show how weird the carpet is. I have cleaned the car up considerably since then (purchased in March 07).

I will post new pictures tonight.

It is possible that the previous owner changed the snaps for plastic velcro attachments and the added the velcro to the carpet.

It could be...but there are no holes in the carpet where the snaps would have been.

My best guess is that it is an aftermarket piece. Is there any where I can order snaps or get a new/aftermarket hatch carpet?

I believe other 95 coupe owners have said they have velcro instead of snaps on the rear carpet. Sometimes Porsche changes little things like this on the production line. Your velcro pads are placed at the same spots as the snaps.

Thanks...can I order the snaps from Porsche or do I have to go aftermarket snap kit?

Sorry I will post more pictures of the car tomorrow night...we had a dinner to attend tonight.

I would think you're better off aftermarket, Porsche will be big money (if they have them)

it's a super old thread Ernie. don't think the principals are listening to your response.

sorry for not mentioning it.
