Default Track day: Pressures on MPSC for 968

Hello:

Any suggestions on track day pressures on MIchelin PSC for my 968?

I live in Madrid and the track will be the Jarama Circuit, weather expected will be cloudy with about 10-11 ºC. We'll go in 30 minutes heats. What do you recommend?

Thank you in advance, regards,

666

I've been running the MPSC's for about 4 years..and I've been generally happy with them.

They last forever, and that's a nice thing at $1,500 for a set.

They seem to perform best when pressures are about 32~35 psi. They get a bit greasy/squirrely/loose if you get them out of that range.

They also get a bit greasy/squirrely/loose if they aren't warmed up enough, too!

So, I've actually decided to switch this year. I'm going to try either the Toyo R888's or the new BF Goodrich 'R' type tires...both are due to come to the US later this year.

Sorry to steer the thread in another direction.

Really appreciate your comments and suggestions Jason. In my last track day in the beginning of december, i think was the ground temp but felt them pretty greasy/loose as you described.
Let's see what happens next monday.

Thank you too Cooz

Hi.
The pressures i run for my Michys are 24psi ALL round...Thats taken b4 going on track ie cold tyres..
These pressures were given to me by a Porsche racing team that campains in the PCGB races..
Ive found once theyve warmed up [approx 3-5 laps ] there great all day....
MAKE sure youver warmed them up b4 pushing on though,, OR youl be off . As a friend of mine found out , to his cost...

what do you guys think street pressures with the MSPC's should be in cold weather (North East)?

I wouldn't be caught dead with MPSC's in cold weather (North East especially!) on the street!

Just my $.02
