i doubt you'll be successful at a junkyard....it'll be hard to find a junkyard with any 968....
easiest way to tell is measure the sway bar diameter with an open end wrench...
someone else will need to remember the diameter(maybe 30-31mm) of the front 968 M030 sway bar. the rear M030 bar has 3 adjustment holes at the ends of the bar.
try to find and buy them used from someone here on rennlist.

If the 968 has factory M030 it will be a coupe and the code M030 will be listed on the options code sticker under the carpet in the trunk. A M030 will also have larger front calipers and drilled disks. M030 is rare. You are much more likely to find a non M030 968 with the sways only.
I think you are unlikely to find a M030 sitting in a junk yard and would be better off buying new or used parts.

One feature to look for is the 968 M030 rear sway bar will have 3 holes on the end of the bar to allow for adjustment. The front bar also has a circlip on the very end of the bar...but like the guys said, the best way to tell is to measure them.

I called German Auto Dismantlers in Georgia and they don't have any M030 cars available. I was asking for the spindles/hubs to swap to larger brakes. They also know their stuff, so if they have a set of M030 bars available, they are going to charge you what they are worth. You really would be better off paying the $330 that Sunset wants for a set with bushings.

Probably in the $4.5-5K range. They are still expensive compared to S2's and 951's. You can get a running example now a days for around $8K so why bother with a "project car".
I know cooz had one for sale

Well Raj,
The car itself will be 4-5k. Even doing most of your own work, especially if the engine is busted will put you near the $10k mark. Now you have a car that you spent the same amount of money on, but got no instant gratification from it. On top of that, your car now has stories. I have had about a dozen project cars in my days, and none have ever ended up costing what I expected, or took anything close to the time I expected. I had an Audi Coupe Quattro, 70k miles, very nice body, slight front end incident, no frame damage. Fixed everything, nearly rebuilt the engine. All the electronics on the car were fried. There was no salvaging it. I spent tripple what I thought I was going took, worked on it from July 05-March 06, and never heard it run. Sold it for what I paid for it, lost about $4000.

I am not but about 4-5hrs from you. Your welcome to come steal some of my modifications. I will sell you my M030's, rebuilt Escort Cups, leather Recaro Speeds, 18" Champion RG5's...hell I will even rip out the 3L. There is always room for improvement! Larger sways, KW V3's, BBS Magnesiums, Recaro SPG's, etc...see where I am going

Wes, well put and that I why is questioned why anyone would want to bother with a project car. They don't make much sense.

If you want the larger M030 brakes why not keep your spindle and hub and just use the Racers Edge Adapter set....$150.

...well the reson i was asking about the project car is i was thinking about making a 968 track car. (completly strip it, and take it apart), then maybe an engine swap or completely work the engine...this is a project i want to start in about 1-2yrs.

It depends on just how much modification you had in mind. If you want to make a 968 turbo 16v, then yeah a blown engine would be good because you'll be replacing so many things anyway. Even if you wanted to go turbo 8v, you could just sell the blown 3L 16v engine, buy a 951 engine and bore/stroke it to 3L.
If you're thinking of keeping the 16v 3L na engine then I think it would be better to start with one that's running well and just freshen it up (like I did).

Wes,
If you're ever looking for BBS magnesiums...I have an extra set.
They are 18" and are 9's and 11's...I run 265/35/18 and 295/30/18 MPSC's on them.
I don't want to tell you how light they are, because it will send this thread off into outer space!
