It looks like a check valve in the end of this hose under the intake. Is something supposed to connect to this or does it vent to the atmosphere?

The open hose visible in my first pic and the 2nd pic in my second post above goes to the oil separator/filler. I just don't seem to have anything left in the parts box to connect to the point in question, unless it's still in the engine bay.

There is a vacuum diagram in the workshop manual Volume I, page 20-1. The device you mentioned is identified as an "overflow valve". The line in which it is installed is the one that takes crankcase gases (and in some cases oil) to the intake. May be, it have to do something with oil overflow from the oil separator, but not shure. In the workshop diagram, there is nothing connected to it. Hope this help!
