Default Exhaust

Does anyone have the model for a replacement exhaust (racing use) muffler only for the 968? I am putting on headers and running a straight pipe back to a racing muffler which will eliminate the cat and resonator. I am thinking of using a Borla or a flowmaster.

Thanks, Mike

Mike,

I put a Dynomax super turbo on mine. Seems to work well, especially on top. Without the back pressure, I may have lost a little on the bottom end but for a track application I don't think that's a problem.

Any idea on what muffler set up is best to improve bottom end and crusing?

I woiuld think someone who tested the package as a whole with cat, res, and muffler. I hear B&B is nice but will not hold up for racing.

out of all the 968s i've driven with aftermarket exhaust, purely by seat of the pants, flowmaster and magnaflow have resulted in the largest drops in low end torque - very significant and noticeable - this seems to be as a result of extreme reduction in back pressure - bad for street, but that would probably do well on a race car, where low end torque is not what you are after anyway, and trading it for high end revving makes sense
