Do a search on "German Auto Dismantlers" on any board and you will realize the hideous reputation these guys have. Seems like no one on RL has had anything but a crap experience with these guys. I have no personal experience but have read many, many horror stories about these guys. Bid with caution!

i've done over a grand of business with them and never had a problem. I guess it just depends. Anyway, I'll be sure not to pass on anything over here any more.

Thanks for the link, I have been watching this auction for a few days.

I am worried about any damage they took during the accident. It seems like suspension would be one of the highest stress points, other than the impact area, when cars collide.

I love the totally BS'd description by someone who doesn't seem to know what they are talking about. Spring rate? Length? M030 or no? lol

ehall--I didn't mean to tell you not to post here, just wanted to warn any potential bidders to check the commentary here before bidding...please don't take it as an insult or personally in any way; I just read a 5-6 page thread where these guys got bashed to within an inch of their lives, hence my post.

I too have purchased from German Auto Dismantlers and have not had a problem. Nothing too major just small parts. They actually sold me a part and then notified me that is was poor quality and did not want to send it. I have not read the thread you are refering to but people do have to keep in mind that it is a salvage yard.

I bought a '92 968 chassis from GAD that is the platform for my new race car - $2,000. Substantially as advertised. Free delivery to New York. So, no complaints here.

I had problems with them 4 years back when they sent me a 944 turbo door seal in place of a 968 door seal. Took me 2.5 months to get $60 back after a shouting match with the owner. Time and time again I would get the run around about the girl who is in charge of refunds not being around. It was very frustrating. I have since not done business with them.
From what I hear things have gotten better but for me they would never be an option based on my personal experience.

I recently did about 1800.00 with them for my cab. If you deal with David you will be all right, nice guy does try to work with price when asked, the owner does have serious issue's, but fortunately is not around for the day to day. Refund chick / receptionist is a mental case . I live about 30 miles from them and pick up parts myself ,gives me a chance to look them over.

No sweat Vento. It would appear that you were inadvertantly caught in the "pissed off at my assistant" cross fire.

Glad that I didn't offend you. If I had an assistant, I could empathize...I am usually in the "pissed off at my ridiculously demanding customers" mood at work!
