We're going tomorrow to look at a track ready 951, looks like the best candidate yet.

Damian/Raj,
Depending on where the car is, you might post it's description, current car #, PCA region, etc.....somebody here or in the Racing/DE forum may know the car.
Best of luck,

Lewis, after we have looked at the car together we'll do our due diligence for sure.

Yeah, she is a keeper. Now all we need is a trailor. We will post details when everything is completed.

Congratulations guys.

Here are some links to trailers:
http://www.racingjunk.com/exec/ca/browse/146/ (used)
http://www.racingjunk.com/exec/ca/browse/50/ (new)

There are currently 11 trailers in the PCA Mart trailer section.

If you have any questions on towing, I would suggest giving these guys a call:
http://www.actrailers.com/
Everyone who works there are racers, they're the #1 ATC dealer in the US and good guys to talk to (even if you don't buy your trailer there), and PCA sponsors. Lots of people in the Northeast you meet at the track have bought their trailers from Atlantic Coast.

My only 2 cents would be: aluminum is lighter, costs more, lasts longer and has a much higher resale than steel trailers.

This may also help:

and this helps to measure tongue weight:

Looks good. It seems like the mods alone are worth the price of the car (or close to it).

You may want to have a compression test done on the engine. Though, if the engine was redone recently, that should be fine. Check the date on the harnesses (not a deal killer, but if they're beyond or nearing 5-years they'll need replacing).

Very exciting news! You can both call me if I can offer any useful advice.

Rich, seems like most of the work was done in the last few years. I am trying to get all records with the car so I can better asses what stands where. So far everything checks out. Oil pressure is excellent, doesn't smoke, fresh head. The list goes on and on. Just need to make a few changes with suspension bits..
We will both be calling you. As a matter of fact lets see if we can do a get together with some of you guys on a weekend. It might be fun meeting up and putting faces to the names. Also, would love to hear from all of guys in person. I am starting a long list of questions.
ITC, you have been extremely helpful with everything. Hopefully I get a chance to return the favor someday. There seem to be plenty of us within the 60-80 mile radius so it should be doable for a few of us.
Rich, hold on to that roll cage! . Might need one.
Oh yeah a quick question for you guys. What kind of AC delete kit are you guys using?

Raj,

A/C delete is pretty simple...saves on the worry of another kind of fluid to get hot and overheat and leak all over the place. You'll be able to sell the pump and rack, too, which will offset the cost.

Just get the Porsche manual rack and rods (tie rods, that is).

Raj,

Sorry, I must be brain dead at this point in the morning...I confused power steering and a/c.

I'm sure everybody makes the same mistake all the time!

Sheesh!

I used Lindsey's A/C power delete bracket.

Great. I like the graphics too.

Jason and I will both be driving red 968's next season. We'll be the real "Red Menace".

Now imagine that car with the following..
Big Reds
BBS racing wheels
Kokeln swaybars and torsion bar delete
Splitter
Brake ducts in place of foglights
Rollcage
Chips
Lowered further
87 and later offset
Yada Yada Yada
Let me stop before Damian has a heart attack .
I hope soon we can start racing and not just DE. And then it will be a 3.0 turbo with .....
LOL
