Maybe we are talking about two different cars. ??

I wasn't speaking of body mods (not a lot different there), I meant the airbags, seats, etc.

I posted the same question on the 951 board, and unless you have a wife I don't really think you need to voice your opinion on the question. If you had noticed, I already said I'm keeping the car, and I was only considering selling it due to her opinions.

As to the 968CS, I looked at the possibility of those, but I need a back seat. I was thinking about the blue one, but has already been mentioned it has gone back to Germany.

I think a lot of people incorrectly assume that CS came with Recaro hardback seats as standard equipment along with M030.
All these bits were optional on those cars. Joska's car did nto have M030 or the hardback seats. I think this might have hurt him in trying to sell the car because as I said we all assume a CS would/should have M030 and Recaro's.

Sorry, Andial951, just gotten too many "wipped" comments lately from people, when the question was asked in all seriousness. I like the second pic, think I'll send it to my wife.

Yes, I know that not all CS cars came with M030 and the fixed seats as standard. I just thought I read that the one I was thinking of did have the fixed seats and they were changed out. Again, I think we were talking about two different cars.

If you are talking about the car in Gastonia (NC), then its my friend's car otherwise we are talking about a different car.
Regards.

If your 951S is pushing "280 rwhp" then it is far and above a normal 951S and it is impossible to compare with any stock Porsche short of a 996 or 997. The original 951S brakes and suspension are identical to the 968.
I find my 968 to be a far more refined and better built car than my 89 S2 was. It also seems more reliable. It also looks better. The six speed is a significant improvement over the older 5 speed box as well. What's more, the fact that you can easily find 968s with less than 80k is also a plus. Not many 951s with lower mileage still hanging around.

If you want to compare apples and oranges, sure your modified 951S is faster. In every other category a 968 is the better car. And if you want to go apples to apples, a chip (PROMAX or the other one) and a revised intake system will make up a lot of that slack real quick.

Incorrect. 951S brakes/suspension are similar as 968 M030 not standard 968.

You can modify to the hilt a 968 iin NA form but a good set of chips in a 951 will make up for all those mods.
People are barely making 220rwhp in 968s with tons of mods ($$$) and that is a piece of cake in a 951.
You can't compare them, its really simple. They are 2 different cars. One is very easy to modify (951) while the other(968) has people catching a hard on over 2-3 hp.

Hence the "deletion of the rear weight cylinder in the trunk" thread.

Default 968 looks slightly better?

There is no way the 968 looks better, if it did, it would have sold a lot more than the 944 turbo. Fact is, it looks like a smaller 928 without the roundness, but I think the 944 turbo, is more fun to drive, and it has much more potential in terms of mods, and is overall a better car with an extensive track record.

Quick Reply: Keep the 951S or get a 968??
