I washed my engine the other day and for the next hour or so, every time I accelerated hard or went up a steep hill, cold water splashed on my right foot.

any suggestions what might be allowing this leak into the interior??

I also have engine bay fumes coming into the passenger compartment, so, maybe the two are related.........

Your drains are clogged. Remove the battery and get rid of all the junk that is sitting in the drain area. Same goes for the Fuse box side as well. You should be able to fill these area's up with water and all of it should drain right away. Use a hanger if some of the junk is stuck in the drains. They are facing the inner fender wells in the two areas.
