Default How do I confirm that my DME is getting power?

How do I confirm that my DME controller (under driver's side dash) is getting power on my 968? When using the voltmeter and checking the DME plug terminals for electricity...does the key have to be cranking...? Or just turned on? Or not turned on?

BTW, I have three DME relays, one new, and that's not the problem.
