Another strange thing, at least in 93, is the amp setup. The amps each power one channel. But instead of a conventional right and left the channels are front and back.

you mean one amp for front and one for back? that would be normal if you mean one amp for left front and rear and one for right from and rear, that would be odd indeed, but would make a certain amount of sense, from a wiring harness standpoint, if each amp was on a different side of the car

I'm definitely reviving a thread here but I wanted to know if anyone knows what the standard speaker setup is [size wise] in the 968. I don't have the 10 speaker option, and the tweeter is blanked out with a panel on the upper part of the door...is there an easy way to get those grills off to see what is behind them? I'm really hoping that I can reuse my Focal 6.5" components from my 993 [fingers crossed] without cutting or modifying. I talked to my local audio shop and all they know is that there are 5 1/4" speakers in front but had no idea what was in back...

I have a 1992 coupe.
