Default Looking to buy a 968

Hello,

I am new to the 968 but have done a little homework. I am looking for either Maritime blue, Polar Silver or Speed Yellow 968 coupe 6 speed only.

Will pay top dollar for the right car.

Thanks.

Good luck, but you're really limiting your chances with such strict color requirements. The speed yellow coupes in the US can be counted on less fingers on one hand, and I don't remember ever seeing a Maritime Blue car in person-and I've seen as many 968's as anyone. The final color, polar silver, is one of the most desired colors for 968's as well.

Actualyy, there is a totalled Maritime blue six speed for sale in NC. Needs an engine and trans however. Body had about 50K on it. My consider rebuilding this..... hmmm.

I am impressed by the input to this forum regarding the Turbo "S" conversions that have been done as well.

Thanks, and let me know.

I have a '95 coupe with 51k miles. Grand prix white over black. I am the second owner. Bought the car in October (after totaling my previous 968 at Lime Rock in September) intending to build an F class PCA racer, but the car is too nice for the track. So I'm building the track car on a '92 chassis using the engine & drive train (and some suspension pieces) from my wreck. Now I've got too many Porsches and I'm not selling my 911.

Here's a few pix.

Richard- are those wheels chrome plated with rhinestones or something? They look shiny and bumpy. No offense: just don't think they're translating right in the photos.

What's your asking price?

John,

The wheels are hedious. Don't know why the previous owner had those wheels chromed - there's just no accounting for mid-western taste. I'm replacing the wheels with either Porsche 17" wheels, (turbo twists) or 18" Porsche BBS wheels as I have an extra set from my prior track car.

You already have a beautiful white 968 coupe.

Thanks for posting the fotos of the white 928. White's becoming my favorite color in this car. Mine's black but I wish it were white....or, better...one of each!

I bought black because 928ers in the Northwest claim they are faster. So far, I've not disproved that for the 968 but I like the scientific inquiry involved in the project. Guards Red is no slouch either

Didn't someone have a summer yellow coupe up for sale not long ago? IIRC he never sold it.

Summer Yellow? Not familiar with that color, is it lighter than Speed yellow?

Thanks,

Stephen

That's the paint to sample car, although it was a stock color on some 944's. I had a friend with one, a 944S. It's less mustardy than speed yellow.

The Summer Yellow 968 is for sale on the PCA website. He just relisted it a week or two ago I think. He also posts on Rennlist and 968Forums.
