Default Muffler advice

Hi all,

I purchased a fantastic 968 back in September. It came with a B&B exhaust on it. The resonator was bad and I replaced that at ye olde muffler shoppe down the road. That made a big difference, but, I'm still looking to quiet the car a bit further.

Any suggestions on what I should do for the muffler? Should I just go back to the muffler shop (the guy seems HIGHLY competent) or should I take a different route.

Cheers,

Phil

My full system was fabricated by a very competant local muffler shop-I've had very good luck going that route. They can weld in a quiter muffler...or you could see if someone has a stock exhaust for sale...I actually know someone who might have one.

Phil, the resonator makes a big difference. The resonance caused at higher rpm will fade with a resonator. Have you tried tracing a B&B resonator section. I know they are 2 piece so you might be able to get just the resonator section.
