Depends on which 944 seats.

Late 944's have split rear seats and I believe all 968's came with the split rear seats. Earlier 944's [until 1988?] came with single piece rear seats.

The late 944 and early 968 rear seats are the same. BUT the 968 received a slightly updated interior sometime in 1994 with different front and rear seats. The seats were similar to a 993's style in the stitching but the rear seats are not even close to the same as ones in the 993.

944 and early 968 seats were all vinyl, whereas later 968 seats have a sort of cloth corduroy middle section.

Of course, on cabs only Canadian and RoW cars had rear seats available; the US insisted on having three point rear seat belts, and decided to put in the parcel shelf for US cars. A few very early 92's are said to have come into the US with rear seats.

as an example, dave's car, with the early stitch pattern, has the early type of seats like the 944 that go all the way from top to bottom - the difference as i'm told, there though is, unlike the 944, the seat backs are split so you can drop one side or the other

ron's car, with the later stitch pattern, has seat bottoms and seat backs, but the center few inches is carpet

i believe both cars are all vinyl in the back

Stock US cars had vinyl, but they'd do it in cloth or leather if you wanted. My old 944 had full leather, front and back, and Raj's Turbo S replica has rear leather seats.

unless there was a difference in early/late 944, you will lose the split between the seat backs that the 968 seats have - i have been told the 944s were all solid backed with no split so you couldn't drop just one half

anyone?

Split rear seats were at least an option on later 944s, may even have been standard in some markets. Both will fit as they have the same mountings.
