I just signed up for the Werks Reunion at Amelia. At least the Porsche corral. Who is coming and bringing their 968? If you are, you can sign up to park with other 968s/transaxles since they, specifically the 924, are the theme.
It is fun when Werks picks a “celebrated” model each year, will be great to see all the transaxel cars parked together in the Corral up front makes viewing so easy😀
Wish I could bring more than one car to include my 1977 Championship edition 924 but already planned to bring my 996 Aero car to display area but will definitely tour the Corral for some 968 eye candy 👍

Dang ! Too far for me to make it from Oregon given work commits etc. But that’s awesome to realize the transaxle cars are featured - did not realize that.
The Zermatt Silver 968 Turbo S is going to be auctioned at Amelia Island. They think it'll be the first 968 to go for 7 figures and obviously the most expensive front engine Porsche ever.
06 - I've been going to Amelia for years and know the lay of the land well. I prefer to be in Amelia early and catch the Gooding preview on Wednesday. Fewer people and you can park at the site as opposed to parking a block away and riding the shuttle. It's $50 (or have a connection) to get in. The $50 is entry for the weekend and gets you an awesome breakfast Friday morning if you don't mind being late to Werks. Once the auction starts on Thursday, which I think is sometime in the afternoon, the cars are off limits to the public and while you can see them from outside the tent, you cannot walk up to them as you can during the preview period. I let weather delay my departure last year and I arrived on Thursday too late to preview Gooding. I won't make that mistake this year.
I then catch Broad Arrow on Thursday where the Turbo RS will be. Again, it's before the auction occurs and far fewer people to contend with. There is no charge to preview BA. Werks Friday, Concours has been changed to Saturday this year and then the cars and community event Sunday.
Sadly, years back there were more auctions and gatherings of cars. They have slowly fallen by the wayside. Good news, what remains makes for an easier weekend. Bad news, there is now far less to see and do. I hope this helps.
Oh, I've been to Amelia a few times, but only the second since I bought the 968 and this will be my first Werks with the car.
I went on a Saturday back in 2012 and didn't pay a dime for anything and got to see them putting cars into place, so I got sound and visuals! That was the way to go. But I know they've changed the schedule quite a bit since even my last outing up there.
Just throwing out a reminder that I'll be at Werks and in the area all weekend if anyone is around and wants to meet up to chat! Feel free to shoot me a text or email.

I'll be walking around Werks on Friday, might have a BP Motorcars tee shirt on. On Sunday I'll be at Cars and Caffeine with the 750iL. This is a couple years ago at the event.
